Season of Easter

Lent was a time of preparation for Easter Sunday and the season that follows.  The season of Easter is a fifty-day celebration of the new life given through Jesus Christ who has risen from the dead.  After forty days of repentance and prayer during the season of Lent, the Church bursts forth in jubilant praise to celebrate Jesus’ victory over sin, death, and the power of the devil!  Alleluia!  Christ is risen!  He is risen indeed!  Alleluia!

"Because He Lives"

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not fairytale or fable.  It is a historic fact that a real man named Jesus of Nazareth rose from the dead, outside of Jerusalem, around 2,000 years ago.  However, we do ourselves a disservice if we simply recall the historic details of that first Easter Sunday without thinking about their significance.  So, what does Jesus’ resurrection from the dead mean for us Christians?  It will be our privilege and pleasure to use the fifty days of Easter to ponder the many blessings God gives to us through Jesus because he lives.
