"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."

-Proverbs 22:6

Youth Education at Nain

Children are a blessing from the Lord, and he has given us the privilege to feed his lambs.  The primary responsibility of nurturing a child's spiritual life falls upon parents, who are commanded by God to proclaim his Word in their households.  God also allows the Church to assist in that process.  Our congregation offers many opportunities to teach the youth of our congregation and community the teachings of Christ.  We also offer opportunities for further education in God's Word well beyond childhood.

Sunday School
Sunday School is held in the church basement every Sunday morning during the school year at 8:45.  All children age 3 through 6th grade are welcome to attend as we review the stories of the Bible to see God's great love for us in Christ Jesus.

Catechism Instruction
We instruct the youth of our congregation in the teachings of God's Word, as explained in Martin Luther's Small Catechism.  Catechism instruction is typically for the seventh and eighth graders of our congregation, although older students are welcome and students can also begin earlier than seventh grade.  We typically require two years of study in God's Word and the Catechism before students can be confirmed and join our communicant fellowship at the Lord's Supper.  Please speak with Pastor Berg if you have any questions.
